Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engg.

Electronics & Communication Engg.

Electronics & Communication Engineering is the combination of two major branches of engineering, Electronics and Communication. It is one of the largest and fastest growing sectors of the present industry. The role of the electronics engineer is very important in almost all fields ranging from the toys to consumer electronics, from household appliances to satellite communication.

About the Department:

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 1993 to start a 3-year Diploma course under The Board of Technical Education, Bangalore. In order to ensure high standards of education for its students, the department has constantly upgraded itself by adding well-equipped and fully furnished laboratories to supplement the theory courses and to provide a conductive work environment for the students. We combine theory with practical and project work about advanced technology helping our students to work at the forefront of all the major areas of electronic engineering.

Keeping an eye on the need of industry and the society, We has been conducting numerous core technical workshops for both students and faculty members to meet the vision and mission of the department and eventually of the college.

The department of electronics and communication engineering (ECE) has consistently maintained exemplary academic record. We have well-qualified faculty with a vast experience and well-established individual laboratories for the students to study about various hardware and software like PCB design, micro controllers, ARM controller, PLC, Verilog HDL, Matrix Lab etc.

The course includes theory, design, fabrication, production, testing and manufacture of complex products and systems. The field of engineering, E&C fulfils the requirement of equipments and components for major industries, including the medical, telecommunication, automotive, robotic, computer and networking sectors. Electronics and communication engineering course give enormous job opportunities in electronics and software companies

Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering is a course of 6 semesters at duration of 3 years. In first two semesters one will study 6 subjects each including theory and practical. Later from 3rd to 6th, each semester includes 7 to 8 core subjects including practical.

In first year (1st & 2nd Semester) the students learn Basic Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Basics of Semiconductor Devices, Science, Engineering Mathematics, English, Computer application and Mathematical Simulation.

In third semester onwards they study Applications of Electronics Engineering, Analog & Digital Electronics, Advances in Communications, Electronic Instrumentation, Electronic servicing, PCB design & Fabrication, Industrial automation, Embedded System, Microcontrollers, ARM processors, Medical Electronics, Computers & Networking, Programming languages like C, MATLAB, HDL, VERILOG etc with relevant practical’s.

Along with the core subjects; Professional Ethics, Organizational Management & Entrepreneurship is included in the curriculum to guide the student how to behave and perform duties ethically knowing all managerial skills in industry as well as society.

Without knowing actual industrial aspects and experience a Diploma program will not be complete. So 52 hours of In-plant training is provided. The student has to perform his own Project work so as to bring out his talents and enhance their qualities and skills.
